			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As a fitness professional, I often get asked what the best types of exercises and workouts are for losing stubborn stomach fat in order to bring out visible six pack abs.  The problem is that most people with excess stomach fat looking to try to uncover their abs are searching for some &#8220;miracle abdominal workout&#8221; that is going to slash the fat off their abs in no time.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The thing is&#8230; they are going about the problem entirely the wrong way! The truth is that you don&#8217;t lose stomach fat by doing ab workouts. So the answer to the age-old question of &#8220;What is the best ab workout for fat loss?&#8221; is&#8230;</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Not an ab workout at all!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The problem is that focusing most of your efforts on abs exercises and ab workouts to try to flatten your belly and bring out 6-pack abs is simply wasting your time from doing the REAL workout techniques that will acutally reduce your body fat for good.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>If I were to choose an answer as to what the best exercises are for losing belly fat, my answers would include full body exercises like various forms of squats, lunges, deadlifts, clean &amp; presses, snatches, swings, presses and pulls, mountain climbers, sprinting, etc. These types of exercises would encompass a much higher percentage of the workouts I would design instead of abs exercises directly targeting the midsection. The way you combine those full body exercises into a strategic workout that maximizes your metabolism is also very important.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong&#8230; I do recommend a certain amount of exercises that directly target the abdominals and core area, but this is only a small fraction of the programs I design for my clients as your time is better spent focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the greatest hormonal and metabolic changes within the body. In addition, a side-effect of training using mostly full body multi-joint combo exercises are that you indirectly work your entire core area even though you are not specifically trying to target the abs.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Keep in mind that the most important aspect of losing body fat to see your abs is actually in the nutrition arena. No matter how hard you workout, if your diet is full of junk, then your abs will be covered with fat. Nutrition is simply the &#8220;king of getting six pack abs&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>So lets clear this up for good&#8230;</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Stop wasting so much of your time focusing on crunches, situps, leg lifts, and all those silly worthless &#8220;ab gadgets&#8221; in your efforts to try to develop flat six pack abs. Instead focus on high intensity combinations of full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all strategically combined into highly effective workouts.  Couple that with a clean diet full of unprocessed natural whole foods as close to their natural state as possible, and those elusive 6-pack abs will be in your future in no time!</p>

<p>The best way to build up washer board abs is to do some good old fashioned work outs. Now I don&#8217;t mean lay down on your floor and start doing crunches&#8230; If you aren&#8217;t doing the abs exercises right; you will have little to no results to show for all your hard work.</p>
<p>Although many people think that having rock solid or sexy abs is next to impossible it&#8217;s actually not that hard&#8230; And it doesn&#8217;t take that long to start seeing results either.</p>
<p>Some people just assume that you need to spend long hours at the gym to see any real results; and this just isn&#8217;t true at all.</p>
<p>There are a few things to always think about when working your abdominal region&#8230; Firstly, you need to know how to exercise efficiently.</p>
<p>You first need to master technique and then you can move into resistance and weight training to see maximum results in the shortest amount of time.</p>
<p>Focus more on free weights rather than machine exercises; this will give you a much more cut look instead of just a smooth look&#8230; Unless of course you&#8217;re going for a nice smooth look.</p>
<p>You also need to know which workouts work which muscle groups; your abdominal muscles are made up of many sections so it&#8217;s important to know so that you can give yourself the right amount of time for recovery.</p>
<p>You should only be working the same muscle group every other day&#8230; If you work the same spot every day, your muscles will never recover and you&#8217;ll actually get weaker.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll also have to eat healthier if you want truly fast results&#8230; You need to eat lean portions of protein and always plan your meals out ahead of time so that you can be sure of your portion sizes.</p>
<p>You may think that you don&#8217;t need to do this if you&#8217;re going to build muscle but you actually do need to lose weight to build muscle even if you&#8217;re already thin; you have to burn off that layer of fat over your abdominal region no matter how thin it is&#8230;</p>
<p>The main thing to always keep in mind is to never give up. Like everything, getting the perfect set of abs is a process that takes self discipline and hard work; just stick with it and you&#8217;ll get your desired result. </p>

<p>You just need to learn how to lose fat from your belly the correcy way by understanding some basic rules of fat loss.  That&#8217;s right, you need to  learn the basics before you get into tracking the small details.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>This article will go over the basics to show you how to lose fat from your stomach.  Once you have a sound understanding of these principles you will be able to see how all the small details fit better into the bigger picture.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Principle #1: Take in fewer calories</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>This might seem overly simplistic but is one of the most important things to get a grasp of.  You have probably heard many times before that to lose fat from your stomach all you need to do is eat less.  This is absolutely true, but you need to have the right perspective on it.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Consuming less calories does not mean you have to use some crazy crash diet that has you feeling hungry and tired all the time.  It simply involves taking in fewer calories than you do right now without going so low that you risk slowing down your metabolism.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t try to all of a sudden eat one meal per day and force yourself to be hungry.  Instead, start by keeping a food log and then make some small changes one by one.  For example, if you cut out 3 bowls of ice cream per week, you will be cutting back your weekly calories by 600-1200.  A few more small changes and you could easily lose 2 lbs of fat from your stomach each week.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>So if you are having lots of trouble losing weight and you cannot figure out what is wrong, it all comes back to the most simple principle of all that will help you lose fat from your stomach more than anything else: take in fewer calories!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Principle #2:  Don&#8217;t do too much slow cardio</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Going for a long walk, riding a bike, using a cardio machine such as a stationary bike, elliptical, or treadmill are all good ways to get some exercise, but spending 30-60 minutes going at a slow speed is not going to help you lose weight in the long term.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>This is because your body will adapt to this type of workout very fast.  When you start to adapt to a workout you burn fewer calories each time you do it because it becomes less of a challenge.  On top of that, trying to force yourself to spend 30-60 minutes on a cardio machine is downright boring and will not help you make the kind of progress you want to.   Instead of just focusing on doing slow cardio, shift your focus to strength training and interval training.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Strength training will do wonders for helping you lose fat from your stomach because the extra lean muscle mass will burn lots of calories when you are exercising and at rest.  You will get stronger, feel better, have a higher metabolism, and be able to handle more challenging workouts.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t worry about getting muscles that are too big and bulky.  Unless you are training and eating very specifically to gain muscle you will have nothing to worry about.  Females simply do not have the testosterone levels necessary to build lots of muscle mass.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Interval training is an awesome alternative to slow cardio because it is faster, more intense, and has a dramatic impact on your resting metabolism.  It helps you lose fat from your stomach because you burn so many calories after you are finished exercising.  Slow cardio only burns calories during the workout session and then stops when you are done!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Interval training basically consists of alternating between high and low intensities at specifically points in the workout.  For example, you might get on a treadmill and walk slow for 2 minutes and then run for 1 minute.  The minute where you are running is an excellent way of taking yourself out of your comfort zone for short periods of time.
