Does working out on an elliptical and jogging work the same muscles?
I like to do my cardio on an elliptical at a hill interval, but jogging is so difficult for me. I thought they worked the same muscles. Any tips?

Jogging will target your calves more due to the “push off”, but overall it will benefit you about the same, the use of your arms in a rotational movement like you do in jogging does benefit you in fat loss also.
Ellipticals are much better for your knees because there is no direct impact.
If your looking for increasing muscles in your legs, throw in some lunges after you done your cardio and do some jump rope for added calf targeting.
They both use the same muscles. Each of them focus on different areas though. For cardiovascular exercises like the elliptical or jogging, you don’t need to worry to much about which muscles you are hitting though. These workouts are better used for building cardiovascular strength and increased calories burned. Resistance training is what you want to do to tone muscles.
